Vermont College of Fine Arts

After retiring from teaching in the MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults program that began in January 1997, I have returned to participate in residencies and occasional workshops, and to welcome and listen to the Darrow Lecturer chosen annually from the many outstanding graduates. My long association with Vermont College of Fine Arts began when I entered Vermont College's original low-residency MFA in Writing program in July of 1994. From that time on, I attended every residency until the Covid pandemic began in 2020, acting in the capacities of student, then graduate assistant, and for twenty years a faculty member--more than 50 residencies! I loved participating in the early years of the evolution of the college and of this wonderful program.
